Maybelline ColorShow in 006 Ladies Night: Review & Swatch

Maybelline recently launched their budget line of nail paints much to the enthusiasm of nail art fans everywhere.

Priced at Rs. 75 and boasting of over 40 shades, the line claimed they had a color for everyone. The first one I selected to try out from the line was an inky blue shade called Ladies Night and quite aptly numbered Double O Six (Get the bond drift?)

Maybelline claims:
With trendy, super stylish shades, these nail colors add oodles of attitude to your overall look. Presenting 40 attractive shades, the Maybelline Color Show Range let’s you mix, match and experiment with color!
Here’s why you’ll love it:
• Nail colors have a gel-based formula for increased staying power
• Is chip-resistant and comes with an easy-flow brush
• Available in 40 different shades

I liked:

1. The color is deep blue - a nice alternative to black. There are times when I get sick of 'feminine' shades of nail paints like peach & pink & red and crave something that is very rock & roll…

One Minute Reviews - New Launches I love & hate

I've not been blogging actively on beauty for over 10 months now. However that doesn't mean I haven't been trying out the new launches in the market as well as reading other beauty blogs. In the last one year, there have been a ton of beauty launches, and while I will be reviewing products individually over the next few weeks, here is a quicker post of stuff I have enjoyed, and things I haven't loved so much:

Products I've been Loving:

1. L'Oreal Moist Matt lipsticks: These are my absolute current favorite lipsticks. In fact I overcame my resistance to wearing bright colors for office because these are all I want to wear at all times. The ones I own are Lincoln Rose & Flaming Kiss.

2. Kryolan Iconic Gel Liner: While not a new launch, I would have never discovered these if Sam had not reviewed them here. Needless to say I'm a fan and own them in every color (well, almost, other than black!) and use them almost everyday.

3. Ponds BB Cream*: This is the dead…

Maybelline ColorShow Glitter Mania in Pink Champagne (607): Review & Swatches

Glitter nail paints are my favorite kind of nail paints. They look really glam, stay on long & oddly enough, if you choose the correct shade - are very office appropriate!

Maybelline recently launched their Glitter Mania nail paints with about 7 shades roughly. Priced at Rs. 120/- for 6ml, this range is a new launch.

There isn't much information on the bottle about the product so let's just dive into the review!

What I liked:

1. The color! It is a pretty silver with a tinge of pink. In the evening it appears silver, but the pink in it gives it a beautiful rosy sheen that makes it look different from regular silver glitter nail paints. I also think it seems to make the color a lot more wearable than a plain silver which can be too cool for Indian skintones. Another thing about this particular shade is that is actually a very neutral shade and works beautifully for office. While overloaded with glitter, it looks classy enough and the color is neutral enough for office. It w…

ATB BB series 14: Will Power & Diets

Anorexia / Bulimia is greatly undermined when described as just an "Eating Disorder". It is not just a person wanting to be thinner because they have some fantasy (for eg: When I am thin, I will be .......), for some people it runs deeper. The outward manifestation is physical perfection or a desire to control an unpredictable external world. Internally it swirls in a pool of unresolved emotions ranging from control, anger to denial. It is a pattern of thinking where eating (or not eating) gets associated with strong emotions.

Anorexics & Bulimics are not the only people plagued with emotional eating issues. A lot of otherwise healthy people use food as a drug.  A drug to relax, to de-stress, to fill up time with, to enjoy, as a substitute for love and attention. While most of us are able to stick to our eating resolutions when things are flowing smoothly, a stressful event throws us off balance and we revert to our older eating habits - seeking comfort in food. We then …
