Aroma Magic Papaya Enzyme Lotion - Review

Sounds exotic right? Papaya Enzyme lotion..

What it claims: Please refer to image above.

Price: Rs. 160 for 220 ml bottle

What I didn't like:

1. The name is misleading, this is not a lotion. This is a watery clear solution - the consistency is like that of water. It also looks like water.

2. The smell is very bland - I was hoping it would smell little fruity as it has papaya, apple & lemon in it.

3. I have been using this for 3 months now. I don't think this has helped reduce brown spots.

4. Usage is little tricky coz of it's consistency - you can't use this as a regular lotion as it just flows off the skin. I use it the way one uses a toner - dampen a cotton pad and gently wipe entire face.

What I did like

1. Think of this as toner & not as a lotion - it is really nice as a toner. It leaves the skin clean but doesn't dry it out.

2. It does cut through grease. I generally use this to wipe my face after I take off my makeup with Lush BabyFace (which is essentia…

Lakme Fantasy Collection Satin Enrich Lipsticks

Lakme has launched new Enrich Shades from 131 to 138 as a part of the Fantasy Collection.

Price: Rs. 225 /- per peice

Available as a part of Fantasy Collection

Shades: I'm reviewing shades 131, 137 & 138

What I liked:

1. The formula seems to be better - they are more creamy & moisturising as compared

2. Long lasting - they all leave a tint behind, esp shade 138. It stays for around 3-4 hours.

3. Priced decently at 225/-

4. Some of the shades like 137, 138 have a lot of shimmer - but this shimmer is very fine & it doesn't not travel all over the face. It stays put on the lips

What I don't like

1. No cribs with the formula - the packaging is a bit boring but am ok as long as the lipstick is affordable.

2. The shimmer is a little difficult to take off.

The shades:

Shade 131 - is a glossy barbie milky pink shade with no shimmer. However I need to use some foundation on my pigmented lips to help the true color shine through

Shade 137 - is a shimmery reddish orange shade. I…

Lakme Fantasy Collection Cheek Artist - Review

I'm reviewing the shade - Kiss of a Rose

What it claims:Get those dreamy rose-kissed princess cheeks. This multi-purpose stick glides magically over your cheeks for a natural blush. Feminine and fun, these colors blend beautifully on all skin tones. Pick from Peach Blush and Kiss of a Rose.

Price: Rs. 395 for 6 gms tube

Packaging: Tube with twist up format, additional clear plastic cap inside.

Available: All Lakme counters as part of Fantasy Collection.

What I liked:

1. The shade Kiss of a Rose - is very, very pretty. It is a deep rosy shade with a hint of brown (it is excellent  for that English Rose kind of look - you know, like you just took a long walk in the country side) that makes it look very natural. Plus this is a matt shade - no shimmer - so it is great for daily office wear. The shade is a very universal shade for me - it would go with almost all eye looks.

2. The ease of application - this is in a cream format & takes about 30 seconds to set - so one has plenty of tim…

Reader Queries: Loose Powder?

m.273 has a query: “Could you suggest a good loose powder for me? I've always used compacts and all the loose powders I see seem to have a lot of shimmer. I can’t use shimmer on my entire face! I have very dry skin, fair to medium complexion, acne-prone. Please help me out!” Thanks m.273 for your query. I would suggest Lakme Rose Powder in 01 soft rose, it costs 80 bucks for a huge tub. You will get it easily at any lakme counter. It doesn’t have shimmer & is a very fine loose powder. You can read my review of it here. Any suggestions for m.273 other than lakme rose powder?

Mac Capricious Luster Finish Lipstick - Review

Described as Fancyful Rose Plum by MAC, this is a lustre finish lipstick. My first MAC lippie :-)

Price: Rs. 950 (approx)

What I like:

1. This is a shade that is very, very close to my natural lip color (yea, my lips are that pigmented!). So this pretty much goes with all kinds of eye makeup. It just amps up the natural lip color so they look more polished

2. The finish - lustre - is moisturing & glossy - it is very sheer, but also builable.

3. Smells really nice :) Vanilla :)

4. After a while the sheen of the lipstick wears off, but it always leaves behind a tint

5. It is a permanent shade

What I don't like:

1. It appears like a frost finish in some lights, I guess that is coz of the micro-fine gold shimmer it has. You can't see it on the lipstick - but it shows up in some lights when applied on the lips. (If you click on the swatch in sunlight image above, it magnifies & you'll see the golden shimmer)

2. The price :(

3. You may not like this, if you like your lips…

Lakme Fantasy Collection - Launched

The Lakme Fantasy Collection has been launched!

Everything look really amazing & I tried the Cheek Artist blush & the Shimmer Liquid Liners today & am loving them!

Happy Holi :)

Hey Gals,

Wish you all a very happy holi!

I've been MIA for a few days, it will stay so till Thursday :).. I have been travelling & have come home just for holi :)

Btw, on a side note, every year, we are told to apply oil on our skin to save it from color - but I always noticed that the oil somehow made the color even more resistant to washing. Last year when I applied coconut oil, I had to wash my face 5 times to take off the color. This year, I went bareface - 2 washes with a normal facewash is all it took to be squeaky clean. :)

Price: Rs. 780 for 10 gms
What I Liked:  1. The shade was a perfect match for me - 150 shell
2. Didn't break me out
3. SPF 20
What I didn't like: 1. The coverage was almost non-existent - I bet loose powder offers more coverage than this foundation.
2. The sponge given along seems to absorb most of the foundation, considering that one gets only 10 gms - I didn't like that.
3. Needs a lot of blending - because y…
